Hyatt Regency Houston

November 13, 2011

The atrium concept in a building is somehow associated with the modernism of the 70’s and 80’s, brought into popularity by John Portman. The grandeur indoor spaces that once shaped many hotels architecture is now somewhat a thing of the past in the United States. In Houston, one fine example is the Hyatt Regency Houston; located in the downtown area. Pure space, pure geometry, and minimal decoration offers a photographer like me nothing else but raw architecture.
