Built by the Dutch in the early 20th century for the public train headquarter, it underwent many functional changes, including torture cells by the Japanese Army during the second world war. Now it is mainly empty, yet its presence reminds me of the long history of colonialism experienced by Indonesia.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\"
